Author: C-Tolkien ✦ Christopher John Reuel Tolkien (born 21.11.1924)
The third child and youngest son of J.R.R. and Edith Tolkien.
He is the literary executor of the Tolkien Estate and has organised and edited much of his father's work for posthumous publication: including The Silmarillion; his father's illustrations and drawings; Unfinished Tales; The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien; Monsters and the Critics; The History of Middle-earth; The Children of Húrin; The Legend of Sigurd and Gudrún etc

Author: James Joyce ✦ James Joyce (1882–1941)
One of Ireland’s most influential and celebrated writers.
Joyce is best known for Ulysses (1922), a landmark work in which the episodes of Homer's Odyssey are paralleled in an array of contrasting literary styles, perhaps most prominent among these the stream of consciousness technique. With a controversial publication history, it is a remarkable and challenging watershed in English literature.

The great success resulted in Tolkien being popularly identified as the "father" of modern high fantasy literature.

Other Tolkien publications

JRRT letter: a two page letter dated 26 June 1957
J.R.R. Tolkien wrote to Deirdre Levinson (his former student, who at this time was in South Africa).
• Publication: A description of the letter was included in Michael Silverman Catalogue 23 and in Bonhams Books, Maps and Manuscripts 23 March 2004.
Description: Tolkien comments on conditions in South Africa, and gives Levinson news of various appointments in Oxford, including Nevill Coghill as the Merton Professor of English Literature, and Elaine Griffiths as a Lecturer. Tolkien was shocked by the death of Roy Campbell but relieved by the general tone of his obituaries. He is sorry "to be pinned down to beer, especially in quantity. On the whole it goes down better with tobacco than other drinks; but I have never been a gargantuan swiller of it".

Legendarium

The Tale of Gondolin is an attempt by Alex Lewis to compile the unfinished tales of Turgon and Gondolin by J.R.R. Tolkien into a single publication (in a manner similar to The Children of Húrin). Illustrations by Ruth Lacon. The story draws upon texts from The Silmarillion, Unfinished Tales: Of Tuor and his Coming to Gondolin, and The Book of Lost Tales Part Two. The Tale of Gondolin was not backed by the Tolkien Estate, although it is claimed that Priscilla Tolkien gave a verbal permission to Lewis to work with the project. The publication was limited to 50 copies worldwide and the suggested value for a single copy is well over $1,000. Copy in collection bound 2004, Second State. http://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/The_Tale_of_Gondolin

'The Ruins of Osgiliath: The Complete Tales of the First City of Gondor is a collection of stories set in Middle-earth', written by Alex Lewis and illustrated by Ruth Lacon. The book was first issued in a series of 3 booklets for members of The Tolkien Society in 1990, created to fund a quality present for Miss Priscilla Tolkien during the 1992 Tolkien Society Conference, celebrating Tolkien's 100th birthday. Like The Tale of Gondolin, the project was not backed by the Tolkien Estate. The book was released in 2005 and was limited to 100 copies worldwide.

✎ ✦
The Ring of Light (TROL) is a fantasy, and it is, as was its creation, an odyssey of imagination: extravagant and unrestrained.
Forged from the inspiration of the two giant literary works of all time; from J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings (LOTR) and James Joyce’s Ulysses, TROL has arisen in homage, pale in comparison as it is, to that of these masterpieces.
However, this tribute would not be complete without acknowledging one other, Peter Jackson, whose imagination knew no bounds, and like no other could, brought to the screen the images of LOTR, creating on film the spell-binding world of Middle-earth.
So TROL owes its existence to three towering visionaries: Tolkien, Joyce and Jackson.
It is offered freely to all those who wish to embark on a new Middle-earth journey…
⚔
TROL is a fan-fiction pastiche.
It fully acknowledges all characters, places and things of Middle-earth are the intellectual property of J.R.R. Tolkien, the copyright residing with the Tolkien Estate, and in relation to that of the LOTR films, to Jackson and New Line Cinema.
No profit from TROL is sought or planned; no disrespect is intended.
Of original material, TROL retains its rights, and of this, nothing should be reproduced without permission.

✎ ✦ Website under development
The Synthesis of Being (TSOB) is in essence a fantasy – however, it is rooted in the very fundamentals of reality. It straddles, and incorporates elements of, what is recognised as fantasy, magic realism and surrealism, and attempts to evolve its own dimension crossing parallels of imagery and time. It questions accepted philosophies and theories, challenging the ‘knowns’ of the dark energy of the cosmos and that of ‘dark’ (noncoding) DNA.
Forged from the inspiration of two giant literary works, from J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings and James Joyce’s Ulysses, TSOB acknowledges the gift of saga and imagery to Tolkien and of the glory of expression to Joyce.
TSOB has completed its journey, now it waits for its final mindful refinement. It will be ready for publication in mid 2017.
