Card Inc. Character Art Portfolio Lithograph Set #1 contains composite portraits of the following 9 LOTR characters, typically based on three different-sized photographs of the character. Each shot shows iconic looks and/or moments from one or more LOTR films, and uses these to portray a particular theme word that appears beneath the composite portrait, which appears within a circle of calligraphied Tengwar lettering of the inscription on The One Ring. The name for each character appears in the distinct typeface developed to identify a specific culture (Elven, Hobbit, Dwarf, etc.) 1. Aragorn – Honour (Viggo Mortensen); 2. Arwen – Grace (Liv Tyler); 3. Boromir – Temptation (Sean Bean); 4. Frodo – Sacrifice (Elijah Wood); 5. Gandalf – Wise (Sir Ian McKellen); 6. Gimli – Pride (John Rhys Davies); 7. Gollum – Hunger (CG/digital character, featuring the acting and voice of Andy Serkis); 8. Legolas – Glory (Orlando Bloom); 9. Saruman – Betrayal (Sir Christopher Lee).
There is a numbered certificate of authenticity and map of Middle-earth included in the package. These art prints were reproduced from the original digital master. The number of sets issued in this Set 1 edition has been in dispute. The vellum map and note that shows through the circle in the cardstock cover states the edition as being 500.

Card Inc. Character Art Portfolio Lithograph Set #2 contains composite portraits of the following 9 LOTR characters, typically based on three different-sized photographs of the character. Each shot shows iconic looks and/or moments from one or more LOTR films. The composite appears in a portrait-oriented rectangular shaped space, usually with a small portion of the character’s head breaking through the line of that rectangular box frame. The name for each character appears in the distinct typeface developed to identify a specific culture (Elven, Hobbit, Dwarf, etc.) 1. Bilbo (Sir Ian Holm); 2. Boromir (Sean Bean); 3. Elrond (Hugo Weaving); 4. Éowyn (Miranda Otto); 5. Faramir (David Wenham); 6. Galadriel (Cate Blanchett); 7. King Théoden (Bernard Hill); 8. Treebeard (CG/digital character, featuring the voice of John Rhys Davies); 9. The Witch King (Lawrence Makoare). There were 3,500 sets issued in this Set 2 edition, with a Middle-earth map printed on vellum, and a numbered certificate of authenticity.

JRRT letter: a two page letter dated 26 June 1957
J.R.R. Tolkien wrote to Deirdre Levinson (his former student, who at this time was in South Africa).
• Publication: A description of the letter was included in Michael Silverman Catalogue 23 and in Bonhams Books, Maps and Manuscripts 23 March 2004.
Description: Tolkien comments on conditions in South Africa, and gives Levinson news of various appointments in Oxford, including Nevill Coghill as the Merton Professor of English Literature, and Elaine Griffiths as a Lecturer. Tolkien was shocked by the death of Roy Campbell but relieved by the general tone of his obituaries. He is sorry "to be pinned down to beer, especially in quantity. On the whole it goes down better with tobacco than other drinks; but I have never been a gargantuan swiller of it".3 views

The Tale of Gondolin is an attempt by Alex Lewis to compile the unfinished tales of Turgon and Gondolin by J.R.R. Tolkien into a single publication (in a manner similar to The Children of Húrin). Illustrations by Ruth Lacon. The story draws upon texts from The Silmarillion, Unfinished Tales: Of Tuor and his Coming to Gondolin, and The Book of Lost Tales Part Two. The Tale of Gondolin was not backed by the Tolkien Estate, although it is claimed that Priscilla Tolkien gave a verbal permission to Lewis to work with the project. The publication was limited to 50 copies worldwide and the suggested value for a single copy is well over $1,000. Copy in collection bound 2004, Second State. http://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/The_Tale_of_Gondolin15 views

'The Ruins of Osgiliath: The Complete Tales of the First City of Gondor is a collection of stories set in Middle-earth', written by Alex Lewis and illustrated by Ruth Lacon. The book was first issued in a series of 3 booklets for members of The Tolkien Society in 1990, created to fund a quality present for Miss Priscilla Tolkien during the 1992 Tolkien Society Conference, celebrating Tolkien's 100th birthday. Like The Tale of Gondolin, the project was not backed by the Tolkien Estate. The book was released in 2005 and was limited to 100 copies worldwide.19 views
